Pakistan Cricket Board Decides
Despite the disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to make major changes in the team management. According to sources, the board wants to maintain continuity and stability in its policies instead of making sudden leadership changes.
Reports from Pakistan Cricket Board suggest that the board has taken a clear stance that no captain or head coach will be replaced in any format at this stage.
Mike Hesson to Continue as Head Coach
Sources revealed that Mike Hesson will continue serving as the head coach for ODI and T20 formats in accordance with his contract. The PCB believes that consistent leadership is necessary to build a strong and competitive team in international cricket.
The board has officially given its approval for Salman Ali Agha to continue as the T20 captain, while Shaheen Shah Afridi will remain the ODI captain.
PCB Prefers Stability Over Sudden Changes
According to insiders, the PCB wants to show confidence in its current leadership rather than repeating past mistakes where captains and coaches were replaced immediately after defeats.
The board believes that providing long-term support and trust will help the players perform better and improve team morale.
Aleem Dar’s Resignation Accepted
Sources also confirmed that the resignation of selector Aleem Dar has been accepted by the board.
Meanwhile, Aaqib Javed, who serves as the Director of the High Performance Center, along with the selection committee, will continue their responsibilities as usual.
Sarfaraz Ahmed Likely to Become Test Team Head Coach
Following the resignation of Test team head coach Azhar Mahmood, the PCB has reportedly decided to appoint former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for the role.
Sources say that Sarfaraz Ahmed will take charge as Test team head coach after returning from Abu Dhabi, marking a new chapter in Pakistan’s red-ball cricket setup.
Future Strategy for Pakistan Cricket
The PCB’s decision indicates a shift toward long-term planning and stability rather than short-term reactions to defeats. By keeping the current captains and coaches, the board hopes to build a stronger team structure for upcoming international tournaments.
Cricket analysts believe this move could help Pakistan develop consistent strategies and better team performance in the future.
