Actress Ever Anderson Walks in Her Mother Mila Jovovich’s Footsteps
One of the reasons the children of the stars we grew up with are so captivating is because we can’t help but look for evidence of their parents in them. In the case of Ever Anderson, the Paris-based actor, the parallels go beyond mere looks, though there is that. For that reason, it is of note to gaze upon Anderson—daughter of model and actor Milla Jovovich and filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson—as she starts to assert her stylistic identity at the Venice Film Festival, one that both honors and breaks free from her fashion lineage. Her red carpet selections, leg-baring dresses with bows, fringe, and lush drapes, seem to indicate that her fashion sense picks up where her mother’s CFDA Award-nominated brand, Jovovich-Hawk, stopped off. The line, founded in 2003 with model Carmen Hawk, was vintage-inspired, where “something” old was mixed with something boho and/or rock’n’roll. Pair Frye boots to a Jovovich-Hawk mini, and you were festival-ready. The popularity of the brand in its heyday was such that Jovovich and Hawk even did a Target collaboration—filled to the brim with lots of prints and lace details—in 2008 before shuttering the business. It’s early days, but it seems Anderson is on track to bring some ease and joy into old-time glamour dressing. Just like dear old mom.
