It’s not date night for Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber if it doesn’t involve some sushi, low-rise denim, and SKYLRK merch. (On her and his part respectively.)

Yesterday, the Biebers were spotted out for an early midweek dinner at their favorite Sushi Fumi in Los Angeles. Both opted for their own takes on comfy casual date-wear. The Rhode founder wore a black scoopneck three-quarter sleeve top that was slightly cropped at the navel, paired with low-rise white baggy jeans, dark vintage sunglasses, and A.Emery leather flip-flops. (A regular shoe in her current summer rotation.)

Her glam was just as pared back: Bieber’s clavi-cut continues to grow out, and she’s keeping up the no-mani mai-pedi look. Of course, there was a smattering of Rhode blush across the high points of her cheeks and bridge of her nose for a sunkissed look.

Justin, meanwhile, stuck to his own laidback, sport-leaning style: he wore an oversized and boxy white t-shirt with teal basketball shorts, ribbed white socks, and sand-colored mules. He accessorized with a gold chain.

Relaxed denim is a Hailey Bieber hallmark, whether from her recent GAP collaboration, Reformation, Still Here, or some trusty vintage Levi’s. So too are heeled thong sandals: from Toteme, The Row, or Jude.

After a vacation with Justin on the Greek island of Spetses, Bieber’s summer has been spent locking in. When she’s not hitting the town for sushi, Hailey’s been setting the internet alight—not with another Rhode drop, but a protein-packed dinner recipe the masses are clamouring to replicate. She’s also been hitting the gym, swapping her usual pilates routine for strength-based training, individual glute bands, and weighted vests. (All while usually wearing her favorite CSB activewear.) A night off was very much needed, and an elevated basic, plus easy breezy jeans and a light shoe makes for a perfectly relaxed summer outfit without having to think too hard. A California roll well earned.
